Welcome to BYCube, the Belarusian space data platform for research and education
Every day humanity receives petabytes of Earth Observation data. Interpreting this data is a reasonably non-trivial job for the science and education community. We studied the world experience of data and service providers and discovered that there is no such link in our region when the application of EO data becomes transparent. While having the space industry in Belarus, the percentage of science-intensive graduation projects related to satellite data processing is extremely low! The threshold for entering the field is still high since raw data is of interest to trained specialists only. Available services, such as Copernicus DIASes, offer to use processed data along with their commercial resources.
We propose a new On-Line Analytical Processing (OLAP) DataCube infrastructure. It is based on collecting all available spatial information (meteorology, remote sensing) and unifying it to be used by algorithms, which are built independently on the same platform.
